Arrived here from BKK yesterday afternoon. First thing I did was to climb the steep steps to Wat Thammikaram Woravirasa. At the base there were monkeys hovering around, very much like in Lopburi. From the peak you get a panoramic view of the whole town and the picturesque coastal line. It's a fairly large town with all the usual fare. Had a bit of problem looking for a cup of my opiate before I finally found a stall. Over here when you order a cuppa, they ask you whether you want netcafe or chung. Netcafe means nescafe while chung means the local one like the Chinese word chung from the cloth percolator. | ![]() Coastal line of Prachuap Khiri Khan |

Prices vary from 7, 10 and 12bts. This morning I took a leisurely stroll towards the market looking for breakfast and chanced upon a stall which sells pig's entrail soup. Had a bowl for breakfast for 20bts' Wanted to take a night train to HDY tonight but was told that all the seats for 2nd class were sold out. So I thought of taking a bus to Chumpon but was told that there were none left for the day. Left me in a kind of limbo. Went back to the train station again and found out that there was a train to Chumpon at 1.45 pm. Decided to take that train but in the meantime I have to hang around somewhere as I've already checked out of the hotel. |
