Pattalung town, a 3 hours bus ride
from Hadyai. Spent a night here. Took a motorbike taxi to Lam Pam beach
for baked crabs. Coming back I got stung by a hornet and was immobilised
by the excrutiating pain which lingered until the next morning. Also lost
my purse with some cash and my I/C.
Remember we cycled across the bridge
to Chung Kai War memorial? Back then there was no bridge and this ferry
was the only way to get across. I walked up to the memorial and later a
kind lady offered to give a lift to Wat Tham Khao Pun. Cant recall whether
I gave her two headlamps a lift also.
Got sprinkled with some holy water
from this priest in the cave temple. Thought it would change my 4D luck
when I got back but my pocket became holeyer with my money slowing seeping
out without any replenishment.
Namtok waterfall, about an hour
train ride from the station at the River Kwai bridge. Due to time constrain
and train schedule, we were not able to make a trip there during our June
excursion.
A favourite spot with the
Bangkokians, Ko Samet is the nearest island from BKK. Boats take off from
the pier in Ban Phe village. Easiest way to get there is to buy a return
ticket which includes bus and boat ride from the travel agencies at Khaosan
Rd.
One of the streets in Chantaburi.
It reminds you of Jonker street in Melaka. Lots of gem dealers here. From
here you can continue to Trat and then take a boat to Sihanoukville in
Cambodia.
