Thailand

Lampang is the only town in Thailand with these horse carriages. Nice place to lempang.
Scattered around Chiangmai are remnants of the Kuomintang soldiers who fled China and then established their own communities, the largest is in Doi Maesalong. The majority are Yunnanese, some embrassing the Muslim faith. To get to this village school, you have to take a motorbike taxi.
This is a rare photo of a family of the Padung long-necked tribe in a clinic. I was walking along a street in MaeHongSon when I captured this photo. The Padungs come from the Burmese border.
Taken from a hill in Thaton. If you're wary of a bus ride, you can take a boat ride to Chiangrai from here. Midway the boat will stop at a village for a half hour  rest and local tribeswomen will try to sell you their wares.
Having a Khantoke dinner cum Thai cultural show with Lisa Worthington who was staying in the same Smile Guesthouse with me. A very sporting and bubbly girl from Canada. Last I heard she was looking for a job in New Zealand
Went to her stall in Chiangmai zoo for a bottle of cold Coke which turned into a warm reception as our conversation flowed. The next day being her off day, she turned tourist guide as she took me to some places of interest. This one was taken at Buak Hat garden. We exchanged letters a few times. She wrote in Thai and I had to find a Thai national to translate the contents. I guess she had to do the same thing when I replied in English. After that we ran out of gas.
