Although a rather isolated town, Yangshuo was like the Khaosan Rd of Bangkok. You throw a stone and it would hit a Mat Salleh. I remember meeting an American who lamented that he didn't like Chinese kids, especially in the villages. When I asked why, he said whenever the kids saw him, they would start throwing stones at him. I guess in those days anti-American sentiments were very strong and school children were probably taught that Americans were devils. I only hope that this sentiment is still there. ![]() ![]() We passed through this Kitten hill. ![]() This cute little girl in a medicine shop caught my fancy but her father didn't quite fancy me, I guess. ![]() Remember how we used to have our haircut al fresco fashion. ![]() Moon hill, somewhere near Yangshuo. ![]() Under the Moon hill arch. ![]() ![]() |
